Hosts government ID

Whilst a forthcoming trip required me to upload my government ID, i notice that in the hosts verified information, i only see that they have provided an email address & phone number? is it likely that they have provided it? or is it not necessary for hosts to provide it? if so, how safe is this? i understand that hosts feel more comfortable having ID provided by guests, but what about the other way around??

You can ask the host to upload the info, just like they ask you. As a host they should have the ID verified, but I've seen many who don't.
