How to get a user banned from the website

There is currently a "Host" with a few listings in San Diego who urges the people who contact him to book off the website and then he refuses to return security deposits.  They require a security deposit matching one month's rent which is $2,500 so this is no small matter.  I currently know of at least 10 people who haven't gotten their security deposits back from this guy.  I also know of 2 active lawsuits against this owner and the company.  The "property manager" of these properties remains in contact with me and says he is sick of this owner treating people like this.  He says he has only seen this guy return ONE security deposit in the last year.  Most of the people who rent these places are from out of town (like we are) so i guess he assumed the odds of them pursuing in court are very small once they leave.  I haven't heard a single word from this guy since we checked out on April 16th, 2016.  He responded to all inquiries prior to us booking so I know he is getting these messages and he knows what's going on.  AirBnb needs to remove this host from the website ASAP before he steals anyone else's money!  I reported him to the site, but nothing ever came from it.

Hmmm, this doesn't sound good!

I would suggest you contact Airbnb via twitter and let them know the details of the properties. A lot of hosts list their properties on a number of platforms other than Airbnb and also concurrently. Airbnb would need to investigate further and If they find evidence that this host is indeed advertising on Airbnb and then encouraging the guests to bypass Airbnb and book directly then I’m sure they will decide appropriate sanctions.

If guests search for accommodation on the Airbnb platform then decide to bypass Airbnb policy as well which requires all transactions, for both the host and guest protection to take place on their platform, then as harsh as it might sound, the guest have no one to blame but themselves. It is a small fee we as hosts or guests pay to Airbnb for their services which include protection in situations like this; unfortunately some people prefer to take unnecessary risk for the sake of saving a few pounds/ dollars etc.

If you know the properties in question, then you can also go directly to the listings and flag them for the attention of Airbnb.

Click on the link for contact options, Twitter would probably be your best option for this sort of query and normally guarantees a quick acknowledgement or response - Contact Airbnb.
