Does anyone know how to contact Airbnb?? It's so weird that we can't directly get in touch with the managers of this system. I need to NOT receive anything that I have to respond to for one week while I will be completely offline & on retreat. I've closed out those dates on my calendar, but I might still be contacted during that week, and if I don't respond, Airbnb will call me "Unresponsive" or whatever. Anyone know how to deal with this?
Hi, @Carla177. Just snooze your listing for the time you will be offline. It always works for me. You don't need to call. All the best on your retreat!
THANK YOU, but how do you snooze your listing??
Never mind, Lawrence. Just looking it up in HELP. I can figure it out. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!! xoxoxoxooxx
Hi, go into your listing, your own dashboard, and there is a little red rectangle with a drop down option to snooze, list or unlist the bedroom/apartment/listing.
If you snooze, it just asks you a date from to when.
Or put in your calender booked out.
Cheers
THANKS, Clare. I figured out how to snooze it. Now how do I make my conversation disappear so that I don't keep getting replies?
Hi there,
hopefully that will all dissappear with the snoozing? I am not too sure otherwise.
I have been hugely frustrated with Airbnb and their lack of response, but I suppose they want us all to be a community hence any questions get pointed back to the community forum!
I tried to get a private review, on a guest, that I had written, deleted but on asking how to do this (to Airbnb) , I was referred back to the community!!! I got an email from the community manager lady, to refer back to "reviews" on the forum. But unfortunatey couldnt find the answer, unless I am being mindless...
I have snoozed a good few of my listings... in pure frustration.
Cheers, I don't have another suggestion unfortunately. Happy 2017 to you.
Kind regards
Clare
It is odd, isn't it Clare, how surprisingly invisible the management is in this system. I read in this forum that someone completely gave up on Airbnb and went with VRBO b/c the support was 24/7 by phone there. I will go slightly crazy when the caca hits the fan and there is no one to reach at Airbnb except nice folks like you. But maybe it's also that they just don't know a lot of the answers. People who have done it know more than they do, so they refer us to each other. I really wonder what their game plan is, in the bigger picture. Anyway, thanks for your insights & wisdom from experience. I am quite sure you are not "mindless"! I think they are, so they send us out on our own.
Happy 2017 to you as well. If I come to South Africa, I will try to find you! I have friends who just went and came home with glowing reports of how I have to retire there, it's so perfect. I had no idea! But it couldn't be farther away from here if I designed it! Their flights took over 36 hours total!

Hey again Carla.
Thanks for the mail. I don't blame that person going with VRBO as I have been thinking of doing just that.
Very disgruntled I am. However, I have met some AMAZING people /travellers (such a modern word!) through Airbnb bookings. Wonderful guests indeed. Only ever one problem, which was totally unresolved, and hence I find myself being pointed to New Hosts, and even though I am not a "New Host", having wonderful conversations with someone at the other end of the planet!
South Africa is a wonderful and beautiful country. Far away , indeed. If you come directly it takes a good 18 hours, but with flights being so expensive, one flies to hot Arab States, and then flies here, which is why it takes so long. If you do ever come, and I WOULD only suggest a good holiday, not retirement EVER, look me up on VRBO or one of the others. I will probably see you your side before you me, as I am to come over to CO in 2017/2018 for a lengthy visit! (daughter).
Great chatting, and to all those who read this discussion, good luck in 2017!
Clare
