I see a cat in the window where current guests are staying and they never mentioned a cat

Good afternoon. I own two homes next-door to each other and Airbnb one of them. I have had a year with zero issues. I just noticed this morning a cat sitting in the bedroom window. The guests arrived last night and are staying five nights. I checked her original message to me and it said she would be traveling with w good afternoon. I checked her original message to me and it said she would be traveling with one dog.  I saw  The dog playing in the yard this morning and she has paid for the dog. She just made no mention of the cat. I feel very lied to you and I am not sure how to bring it up to her and what charges she needs to pay.   The dog fee is $25 for the first two nights and $10 a night after that. I just can’t believe she would bring a cat in without any permission. I am disgusted.

"Dear [guest], I just looked over and see there is a cat in the window. I am so sorry! I don't know how a cat could have got in. How awful for you! I will be over right away to remove it."

Just kidding. That's just what sprang to mind. You do need to address it, but with something businesslike.

Tell the guest you have seen there is a cat - because it is sitting in the window - and ask how many animals she has with her so you can adjust through the resolution centre accordingly.

It's annoying, isn't it.

Haha! I like your style. Thank you for making me crack up!!

SO annoying. I handled it as professional as I could; I just let her know that I was under the impression she was only gonna have one dog. She responded with an apology and asked if there were additional cost. I charged her the same as I would for a dog. I also let her know that I had a large dog crate she could borrow so it wouldn’t stress her out to have her cat out and about where the guest would have to worry about scratches, urine, litter or hair on the furniture, etc. 5e guest assured me the cat would be fine and she has everything in the house covered. We shall see. Thank you!

I would never host a cat. They have claws and stress easily which leads to pee. Anyway, that aside I had a guest telling me that ''my cat miaows at the door wanting to be let in'' when I have no cat. Possibly other guests have fed this strange cat, maybe even let it visit? It seems to have  gone now.

So theoretically, it could have been someone else's cat in the window...
