New @ Airbnb hosting. I decided to decline a request for 2 nights stay due to price. The guests is now asking why. What can I say without hurting my rating

Did you decline because two nights is not a cost effective stay, or something else?

Do you have a minimum stay set for your listing?

I see you have a two night minimum stay, so what made you decline the request?

Did they ask for a discount?

You could use the vague catch-all that you don't think they'd be a good fit for the listing.

Most people when told "no" would move on. Sounds like your choice was correct.

You set the rates and duration, @Gen19, so not entirely sure what you mean.
