Hi all!
I have a guest who booked our condo during the Inauguration here in DC. She completed the booking prior to the election - a few of my friends who also are also airbnb hosts have had several cancellations due to the outcome of the election. I sent her an email shortly after confirming her booking, following up on several questions she asked and asking several of my own. I did not hear back - no worries, people get busy.
In the beginning of December, I sent my customary "just checking in" email, re-asking my initial questions, and asking if she or her traveling companion had cleaning product or food allergies. Didn't hear back.
I checked in a week ago, less than a month out, asking again for food or cleaning product allergies, confirming they would in fact be arriving. Due to security procedures in the city during the inauguration that impact our offices and normal travel, we've had a few changes with logistics that need to be discussed with our guest.
Today, I sent a text asking if she'd received my emails and let her know we had to confirm her arrival and work out logistics to ensure she could still rent our place.
We do have a flexible cancellation policy, but due to the inauguration, our logistics for providing a key/access have become much more difficult, as have travel plans.
Do I cancel? Do I wait? Our guest's non responsivness may potentially render her unable to stay at our condo.
Thanks in advance for the advice!
