Hi everyone!
I had my first unread Inbox message quite some time ago but it has now grown up to 4!
I always have a 4 unread messages sign in my Inbox but I always get the message messages can't be loaded at this time and they just stay there... while of course when I open my Inbox all the messages have been processed, nothing unread.
I tried switching in between traveling and hosting views, also no success. Also tried on both desktop and mobile versions.
Also already tried the different views like Archived or Starred, etc - but no success. Anyone else has come to the same problem and might have a suggestion?
Many thanks!

This might help... when you go to your dashboard there will be a list of pending messaes and/or notifications. You can click on them to then go in and read it. However for me reading them does not make that message on the dashboard go away. When I click on the X by the message or notification on the dashboard, then it removes the number it says I had waiting. It took me awhile to put this together, and it might not work on your browser. I don't have anything pending right now so I can't include a screen shot. Hope the explaination isn't too confusing.
I have 3 unread messages constantly. I was able to just get rid of 2 of them by clicking the dot on the right side of the message but I only saw 2 messages with the dot. So I had 5 unread messages supposedly-and now I am down to 3. I would like to actually know how many unread messages I have and not have these constantly showing. Any help? Thanks
I do not see an X to click on?
To anyone still having this issue, I found a way to fix it; If you have opened a message elsewhere on a different platform (phone, app, etc), sometimes although the message changes to 'read' on all platforms, the desktop version still thinks you have a message. If you reopen that message on the platform that you didn't use previously (in my case, I originally opened a message on my phone, it is now showing as 'read' on all platforms, so I now open the message again on desktop), it should clear inbox (1) notification! I hope that makes sense!
The "featured answer" doesn't explain properly.
To get rid of the notification on the AirBnB cellphone app that falsely says you have unread messages:
- Go to Airbnb.com on a Web browser and log in.
- Scroll through the messages as if you are reading them
- the notification dots will disappear from the app after a few minutes
I found a solution!
go to Airbnb in a browser and open your unread messages. After reading they will not show as unread in your app
not ideal but it gets rid of that annoying persistent unread number.
I can't open my messages. I have read all the entries regarding the same problem. NOT GOOD!
If you are a host, try switching to traveling. There may be some unread msgs from Airbnb in there. That solved my 2 unread msg problem!
