Airbnb is calculating my monthly, weekly, and nightly prices incorrectly. I have $65 set as my nightly price, but they are giving some guests a higher nightly price and others a lower price. They are also not calculating the longer stay discounts at all, if they are they are incorrect. I'm getting really frustrated as when guests contact me with inquiries, I often cannot figure out how their total was calculated. So far, this is mostly in my favor, however, it may be causing me to loose out on bookings and isn't fair to the guests. Any one else having this trouble?
I am having the same problem with my listing. So far ok in terms of money coming in, however concern over lost opportunities due to periodic higher prices.
Me too! I contacted CS and have not heard back. A few guests have asked me about pricing when they are quoted way higher than my price. Even though I've sent them special offers, they didn't book. I think it makes me look like I'm not being honest, even though it's completly on Airbnbs end.
I just accepted a reservation.
Then I realized the price was too low.
The person should get the weekly discount (24%), but airbnb gave the person slightly more than the monthly discount (monthly discount is 40%). Airbnb just gave the guest a 43% discount for a 12-day stay. I will let the guest know in a message but there is a bug in your software!
My mistake. I have 2 listings. The guest booked the cheaper listing. Sorry about accusing airbnb of having a software bug!
I"ve also incorrect pricing on my room, how do you contact CS for AIr BnB am going round in circles trying to find it here!
Hello Hannah Did airbnb ever resolve this issue for you? If yes, can you please let me know how to go about in getting it resolved please?
Kind regards
Y
The price I have listed to rent out my cottage is $181.00 CD per night (includes taxes) however I have just had a request from Germany and the price is listed at only $131.00. When I went into my control panel it is correct at $181.00 per night. I am confused and need to find out why before accepting the reservation.
My weekend rate is not showing on the calculator people use before booking, its showing the weekly rate so people are surprised when they see what they have to pay when they instant book. Also there's a glych in the system - when people type in the number of guests it comes up my end as .... 5 (or how many) people and "bull"... every time! This bull is getting on my nerves.
I'm having the same issue as a guest. It will say one price one day, and then jump by up to $30 the next day, and also when I click on a listing from a search list, the price will jump to a different number when I look at the listing directly. It's really disconcerting. I've requested to book a listing, at one price, it gets accepted and when I go to confirm the booking, its at a different price. What is going on?
Hey all:
I am also having the same problem. I've had three reservation requests in the past two days for 28 nights and they are $800 too cheap based on what I've set my monthly rate at. I haven't declined the reservations, as I'm trying to figure this out, which will probably hurt my host respose rating.
Has anyone heard back from CS? I can't find a customer service contact which is really frustrating! Argh.
Thanks!
Jenny
I still haven't heard back. I'm trying a different route this summer, I'm feeling a too frustrated with Airbnb.
I'm having problems with the pricing too. When I look on my calendar I can see that the prices for May are set at $47 per night with a 15% discount on a week long booking, but I just got an enquiry where the guest had been shown prices at $27 per night!! This has happened many times and it is getting frustrating as I look like I'm messing people around when I have to tell them the price they've been shown is wrong.
Furthermore, when I look at a booking on my calendar, the "total payout" amount that is shown is ALWAYS significantly different to the "you earn" amount that is shown on the message history for that booking. I never know what price AirBnB has actually given them, and therefore what I will earn, as recently every booking has been given a different price to the one I've set, as described above!
I couldn't even figure out how to get hold of anyone from AirBnB to fix this! There are definitely a lot of bugs in there software.
I'm having the same problem. I have set my basic nightly rate at CD $ 175.00 yet I had a guest book for $84.00 nightly! I had to cancel one reservation about a month but it was my error with the auto pricing program. That's the worst program I've every seen. The program accepted a four day booking for CD $44.00 per night and you can't even get a low cost rental here for under $65.00 per night and we renting out an entire house! How crasy is that...I'm thinking of taking my Listing off of the web site and it's ruining my reputation on my other vacation rental sites.
Airbnb calculated the wrong price and I accepted the reservation before realizing it.
40% discount on $75 is $45. Airbnb charged $36. I accepted. 11 days * $9/day = $99 lost.
How did airbnb calculate $36???
