I've opted to allow Instant Book for my space with the added requirements to have a government-issued ID and recommendations from other hosts. I just got an instant book confirmation for a guest who has a valid ID, but NOT a single review. How is this possible? Is it supposed to be one or the other? Has this happened to anyone else?
@Vien0 If you had checked both ID and positive review prior to this IB booking, the system should have not allowed the booking. You can cancel the booking with no penalty then contact Air BNB (via Twitter for me) and advise the system allowed an IB that did not meet your criteria. System boo boo is not that unusual. I have had the same problem before and Air BNB corrected it.
I have seen a few posts over the last couple days with this issue. It does seem to be an Airbnb glitch.
But before you cancel the reservation, I urge you to consider keeping it. Most Airbnb users are new and trying out the system for the first time. We were all new once and needed a host to take a chance on us to build our reviews. Try messaging with your guest to get a better feel for them, their intentions, and their vacation plans. 🙂
