Is this a legit listing?

Curious what community thinks about this listing. While host is verified, there is almost no description of the place and no reviews. I reached out yesterday for details and she repsonded quickly, saying she would be in touch today.

Worried it might be too good to be true.

@Nichol0  the property certainly exists and is on youtube here. But is it a genuine Airbnb listing? ...maybe, but I'm not so sure.

Thank you so much for this! I think we're going to have to find a different place. We're a big group and we rent in in Palm Springs annually. While $1200 a night has certainly gotten us a great house in the past, it has never even come close to getting us a 4000 sq ft pool.

Update -- it's legit!

It's quite a new listing, but then lots are. The host is verified and also has a review from where they stayed at an AirBnB property.

Ask as many questions as you wish before considering booking - but there is nothing that raises a red flag to me. In fact, in the house rules they specifically cover events too and talk about an additional fee.

I don;t know if the pricing is causing you any concern - I have not looked at other large properties in that area to know if it is in the same price bracket. If it was very much lower then I might be a bit concerned.

Thank you! Yes, the event thing and host reveiw worked to sort of sell me on at least the possibility of legitimacy, but the price does seem quite low for the amenities pictured. I've been in touch with the host -- will update if I ever figure out if it is the real deal or not!

Red flags waiving for me, proceed with caution and let us know.

David

Update --it's legit! And an insane deal for the area! We're taking it. The host on airbnb is new to the process and managing the listing for the owner on aibnb (he normally rents it on VRBO).  Took a lot of back and forth to confirm, but I'm satisfied -- the listing is real!

Did you find it on VRBO, was it a similar price?

David

Yes! Slightly lower on VRBO -- the listing number is #204164.

We finally got to see the place for ourselves over Memorial Day weekend and it was fantastic -- just as pictured. We had the best time. Strongly reccommend.

It doesn't feel legit to me - no description of the property. Photos also look out of focus.

I would call BNB before making a booking.

@Nichol0

It may be legit, but it looks to me like you are in a condo complex, not a private home.

I've seen hotels and professional VR companies buy hotels and "rebrand" them as private homes-- the fact that they allow events and can accommodate large groups but are vague on the space suggest to me that you may get multiple hotel rooms in a complex.

Ask questions before you book, if you are expecting a private home or think you are renting the ENTIRE space around the pool for your group.

Thank you!

Here's what I know now --it's a 6600 sq foot private home! The VRBO listing has all the details and a bunch of reviews, however it took a lot of addtional convincing to believe it was real.

Promise to update once I've been! We're going in May.
