Italian tax requirements

Hi everyone... my name is Ana and I live in Australia but I recently inherited a home in Italy and was wanting to Air bnb it when I am not there. Seems simple enough? It is out in the country so I don't believe it will get many visitors but I think it would be great to have it lived in every once in a while. What are the tax requirements in Italy ? Can anyone help.? The more I read the more confused I get. Obviously we need to pay tax and I am happy to do so but why wont Air bnb deducted the necessary taxes ..it would make life a lot easier. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Is there a tax free threshold in Italy ..21% flat rate seems very high.

Hi Ana, 

Did you ever find your way through the Italian regulations? I'm American and trying to figure out how to rent out my apartment in Italy but the rules are so confusing. If you could share any insights I would be most grateful!
