We found two drawers full of clothing and a necklace that could possibly be valuable. I have back tracked the past 4-5 guests and no one claims them. I don't do the cleaning but periodically check the drawers for items left behind so I know they haven't been there very long. Any suggestions? I can keep the items for a year in case anyone discovers they have something missing, but after that I'm not sure what my obligation would be.
@Peggy--Charlie0 If you contacted everyone, you can do what you like with them. If you feel bad about it, take a picture of the clothes and send everyone another mail with the picture, that if nobody claims them, you'll give them to charity. "If they are yours, postal fees would be x USD. Items will be held for 10 days only" If the guests annoyed me, I claim postal fees and handling fee to wrap them up and stand in line at the post office (1 hour of a cleaner rate). Some people want to get them nevertheless, others don't even bother to answer.
I would mention the bracelet but no picture of that and if someone claims that, he should describe it. If an item fits into a letter, I send it for free, but if they want a registered letter, they have to pay.
You can ask postal fees any time via the resolution center. They can accept and you send; or decline and you don't send them. The 48h rule does not apply if there is consent.
We hosted a guy once who worked on an oil platform. He fogot a lot of clothes and said to keep them, he would spend his next holiday in our town, book again and pick them up then. I had them wandering form one storage shelf to the next and after years, I packed everything in a bag to depose beside the bins on the street. Not even the homeless took all of it! No more storage at my place. 😉
How do I get an address for the guest? They have described the watch they left behind but are not reponsing to my requests where to send it to them???

I would just wait. Even if they gave an address to airbnb, it may be a false one or an old one, if they have been members for a while.
You can send a final message, that you are waiting for the address / payment of postal fee for a month and then you give the watch to charity.
