Keys delivery

Hello,

We are a Belgium couple renting out an apartment in Malaga (Spain).

In the city it's not allowed to put a keysafe on the outside of the building.  But we can't always make it ourselves to go to Malaga to welcome our guests and give them the keys.

Is there anyone who can offer us a solution for this?  Thanks!

This is a good question. You need a keypad with wireless internet access. You can set a code for each guest, they can get in and you don't have to worry about getting them keys or the guest losing them. The pads are pricey, but great problem solvers. Check out this Airbnb link for starters: https://www.airbnb.com/host-assist. You may also be able to access the page by going to your administrative panel, mousing over HOST and then clicking HOST ASSIST.

We use a wifi lock and it has really saved us from having to make trips to the property constantly and no one gets locked out anymore.

That would be great but it does not solve the problem that they are not allowed, in their city to put a keypad or keybox on the outside of their building.

I have the same problem.

And in addition, I don't know how anyone can function with self-check in in Andalucia where the host is legally required to get the guests passport and register them with the polica on all arrivals

The problem is not the apartment door, where you can put whatever lock you  want, but the street door, where the community/building will never agree to a smartlock or remote key.

Hi @Wim3,

As @Tim-and-Holly0 suggested, a smart lock could be the best solution for you - we have various threads discussing different locks and technology, have a look at the ones below for some ideas!

Hi, I am currently developing a new internet start up company in Málaga called KeyForMe [link removed]
Our mission is to simplify key exchange between rental hosts and their guests.

This idea is came to life because I rented out my apartment in the Netherlands. My experience with key exchange was that it could be very time consuming so i developed a new way to manage and exchange keys that will benefit you as a rental host and your guests.

Our goal is to start our new key exchange service in Málaga april 2017 and I am searching for rental hosts or short term rental companies in the centre of Málaga who like to try out our exciting new service. Our first KeyCabinet will be located at Nuevo & Sur Malaga, Calle Madre Dios.

If you want to have more information or want to join our new service you can contact me at [email address removed] or visit our website [link removed]

- You will be notified when your guests will pick up and drop off the keys.

[link removed] Benefits:

- Cost reduction ( Just 10,- per month + 1,50 per key pick up )
- Notification when your guests pick up and drop their keys.
- Secured & proven technology: Our KeyCabinets are also used by governments, hospitals & military.

Hamoedie did you get this system started up?  I would be interested in learning more but I'm in Marbella.
