Length of stay discounts

Good morning. 
I just received interest to host for 28 nights, and to my surprise the price was much less than the discounted monthly rate, how can this be?

@Aloysia0 you have a 20% discount for a new listing on top of your 60% discount for a monthly stay. Even a 60% discount makes your listing incredibly cheap, and you are likely to attract pretty dodgy guests at such a low rate especially as you are a new host. 

I would recommend not hosting for 28 days or over when you start out (or at all). Airbnb isn't very well set up for long term rental & you make end up with tenants that you can't evict.
