Links to Official Transit Sites

So, many of our guests ask out how the use the DC Metro system to get around.

When we send them messages that link to the OFFICIAL WMATA WEBSITE, Airbnb "blocks" the links.

Anyone have an idea WTF that is?

@Lillian61  Airbnb blocks links in messages to external sites. You can either just give guests the name of the transit company and they can simply Google it to find the site, or you can email it to the guest.

Thanks for the info, but that seems really counterproductive when AirBNB makes a point of telling hosts to route all communications through their site, doesn't it?  Why add the extra steps?  Which requires Hosts to contradict stated policy?  Seems like a thoughtlessly restrictive policy, although I understand that blocking all such sites takes less work for them.

But point taken.  Will adjust communications accordingly.

Thanks for the help.

@Lillian61  Well, it is best to keep as much of the communication as possible on the message stream, especially if it's something that could prove contentious in the future and there needs to b a record. Like sending check-in info- a guests could claim you never explained or sent them the door code, when in fact you did.

I guess I got resigned to it back when I started hosting. I need to send my guests a hand-drawn map to my place, as it's impossible to find otherwise. But you can't add attachments to the messages, so I've always had to send it to guests via email.
