Hi. I just wanted to check if it is possible to list your place as entire place and also shared space at all.
I have times when I am away and times when I am not or would I just have to create a separate listing for this?
Hi Bairbre - With one listing you would need to chose one or the other with an explanation in the listing that sometimes it's a room and sometimes it;s the entire house or create 2 separate listings. The tricky part to 2 listing for the same property is keeping track of 2 calendars so you know when it's a shared room booking or a entire house booking. Since the calendars are separate there would be the potential of a double booking where someone thinks they're renting the entire house when you already have a booking for the shared room or vice-versa.

@Stan-and-Jan0 exactly, but I think it is quite easy because when she knows she will be away from home, she will need to block these certain dates from the calendar of the shared room. Actually, I would keep all the dates blocked on the calendar of the entire home and when I knew I would leave the house, I would first block those dates on the shared room and then I would open them on the entire home.

Thank you Stan this is helpful. Guests have to request to book to stay at mine so hopefully it should be ok. However I think blocking off the shared option for when away is a good suggestion too
Hi Barbie I'd list your entire home as a separate listing for those known dates you are absent, only those folk searching those dates for an entire home will find you. It's a very useful thing to do I think more hosts should realise how viable this option is. It's not so hard to track the two calendars obviously 1 counts out the other so you just block the dates out for your normal room let calendar. Specify the minimum and max days your entire home is free, place a separate pricing upon it then only allow folks to book who overlap nicely with your absence? Say you're away 3 weeks you might still be willing to accommodate someone staying for a minimum of a week or perhaps 10 days. Then you will only attract those searchers. Enjoy your break!
