Hi @George193,

Welcome to the community!

I can see that you posted your question last Monday and was wondering if you can view your listing now?

Let me know.

Hi Steve,

I have been getting some requests but not a whole lot and the villa has just been freshly refurbushed and very ideally located. I also lowered the price. Could I please ask for your advice as to what I should improve?

Thanks

Hello @George193,

You have instant book turned on. Do you also have requirements that guests must have government ID and / or recommendations from other hosts?

If you have either of those requirements you must be logged in when searching and you yourself must also have those requirements if you search with instant book turned on.

When I searched when logged in and with instant book turned on your listing did not show up as I don't have recommendations from other hosts. I'm a host with government ID  but have never been a guest.

When I searched with instant book turned off your listing showed up. This will allow a first time guest to send you an inquiry or request so you can decide to host them or not.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your email. How can I turn the instant booking off? I have already checked the steps suggested by airbnb but its nto working.
Thanks

George

Hello @George193,

I presume that you want to turn instant booking off on your listing rather than just when you search.

I tried it just now as follows.

Go to your calendar and click on "Manage settings" in the top right corner.

Then click on "Booking settings".

Now select the little button beside "All guests must send reservation requests".

Then click on the "Turn instant book off" button.

Now click on a button to select a reason and then click on "Continue".

Select "Continue" on the next page.

Then read the text and tick the 3 boxes on the next page and click on "Confirm".

It will now be turned off for bookings and guests will have to send you a reservation request which you must accept for the reservation to be confirmed.

Steve.
