Local Taxes

Hello Fellow Hosts:

I know there has been a lot of discussion on this page about the lack of flexibility to add a local tax line item for regions that do not have a relationship with Airbnb.

The suggestions I got from the Airbnb support team are:

1) Add to my nightly rate.  (Not sure how to do that with a dynamic pricing set-up I use.  Not to mention that the Airbnb fee may increase).

2) Add the note to my description that we will collect separately from the guest.  (I live far away from my home.  So, I will have to send a request for money once they book.  Which is a bit of a pain, but could work).

One option I thought of.  You can add a "management fee" to the bill based on a %.  If we were very clear in the description that the management fee is for taxes, this may work.

Has anyone tried this? If not, what do you think of this way?

Best,

Steve

We have a separate option on the webste to add taxes, for some reason it is (still) not implemented in some other parts of the world. BTW Your listing show these taxes:  "Accommodations Tax (Oregon)" are already charged to guests.
