In my description and thru messages with the guest(s) requesting to book we provide specific details about our location and it is shown on the map. However, in spite of my efforts we continue to get 2 - 4 stars for location. What do others do? Should I grill guests prior to booking to be sure they have read thoroughly our description?
Thank you,
I feel your pain @Roberto-And-Paige0
I've had guests ding me on location because they got lost...
@Roberto-And-Paige0 My goodness! Your listing must give the exact distances from the towns 4 times! I don't know how much clearer you can be.The number of lower stars must still be a minority since the public stars for location still appear to be a five.
I might add, I was going to suggest you offer bikes so the distances weren't as painful, but gosh, you already do!
So, I can only give you my empathy/sympathy and no suggestions as to how you can be clearer.
People just don’t read, I guess. Thank you for your input.
@Roberto-And-Paige0 I remember a post here a long time back- the host had included a photo of his listing in the post. Gorgeous, modern place with floor to ceiling windows, enormous tropicals in big pottery planters, and an infinity pool, right on a stunning bay in the Phillipines. He said guests sometimes give him low location ratings because they were fussed that they had to drive 10 minutes to a supermarket.
So yeah, all we can do is offer empathy.
And it never hurts to re-iterate things when a guest requests to book that have caused you to get low stars, or guest complaints in the past. Yes, many just look at the price and the pretty pictures and quickly skim and barely register all that you took so long to accurately describe 😞
