Long Term Reservation

I am trying to understand my options and keep getting different information from Airbnb reps....here’s my situation.

reserved a room from 4/1/19 to 6/30/19.....it is now 4/26/2019 and I need to modify my reservation to leave on 5/28/19; basically one month earlier than expected.   If I modify my reservation today, 4/26/19, Since I am giving 30 days notice I’m only responsible for payment until 5/28/19; correct?  I think I’m understanding the long term policy correct but can anyone clarify?

@Gigi91

I think you are understanding the long term policy correctly, but you need to make a formal change on the site for your host to accept in order to avoid being charged for the last month.  As the monthly price might be based on your length of stay, you might be asked to pay a higher rate.

Alternatively, make a cancellation in time to avoid the last instalment, but this is not likely to go well with the host and you risk a less than stellar review.

First and foremost, discuss the situation with the host so that you can make an agreement that will benefit both parties. The earlier you notify the better as this may allow the host to rerent.  Loosing a month of income is not fun.

Hello @Gigi91,

Great to meet you and welcome to the Communtiy Center.

I just wanted to check if you have seen @Marit-Anne0's helpful response here? Have you managed to get this sorted out with your host?
