Long term renting on Airbnb

Hi there, How do I book long term rentals?

I ran across an apartment offer online (not Airbnb) and once contacting the owner he adviced that he had a contract with Airbnd to administrate the apartment in his absence. When getting closer to the final steps, I was not able to find his place within the Airbnb offer, which he answered with long term rentals being managed through a different branch of Airbnb.

Is that so? Would the contact be done via the owner for him be the initial engagement with Airbnb? 

Does anyone know how this works?

Hello @Nora77. I suspect you're being tricked into a scam. Make sure you do not make any transaction outside Airbnb because your money might be gone.
