Loud, Drunk, Disrespectful Guests

Hello.

Im currently having big issue with a group of guests. Any advice welcome..

So there was little  communication to what he and his two guests were doing on the trip, but had positive reviews so I accepted.

He turns up with 2 work colleges and we could tell they were going to be a problem from there. Screaming and arguing with each other upstairs in their rooms, very confrontational when ask to quiet down. They said they were going to go for ‘a few casual beer’ and have work at 7 am so will be gone early.

At 2am one guest arrived back extremely drunk, too drunk to open the door. I let him in, he starts a very loud argument on who’s taken the lockbox key.

The others arrive completely drunk and start being extremely loud upstairs. They are going back and forth from the front door to smoke, not locking it afterwards. Ones running too and from the bathroom vomiting. They generally are showing complete disrespect to the house, to my other guests and to me.

Whats the the next step? (This is a morning after message)

Oh my goodness! What a horrible experience for you.  I am new to this community forum so apologies if I give incorrect advice but felt I had to sympathise with you.

Have they left now? If not I would phone Airbnb for advice as that type of behaviour is just not acceptable, I think you are in your rights to ask them to leave.   When they have left I would definitely give them a poor review and NOT recommend them to future Airbnb hosts.  - We have to look out for each other and hopefully stop them from violating other hosts homes.

Good luck ( I have been hosting for just over a year, and thankfully have not experienced anything like that.  On the whole people are lovely and are very mindful that they are guests in peoples homes)

@Jamie446 If it was only a one-night booking, you need only leave an honest review.

However if these guests are staying for a longer period, it's best to initiate a conversation with them (with some documentation in the Airbnb messenger in case CS needs to get involved at some point). Issues like this aren't quite as clear-cut as damage or rule-breaking, so it helps to "show your work" and be able to demonstrate that you have made an effort to resolve the issue - for example by establishing official "quiet hours" and reiterating your rule about keeping the front door locked.

While the loud and disrespectful behavior is a big problem in itself, I'm more concerned about the fact that they were confrontational to their host during all this. Aggressive behavior that leaves you feeling unsafe in your home is a sign of worse to come, so unless they are genuinely contrite about last night's shenanigans, you're probably best off arranging with Airbnb to terminate the booking and refunding the unused nights.
