Hi everybody!
I'm on Airbnb since last March. I have an apartement into a Residence on Tenerifa (Canary Island, Spain): Is it normal that "eventually guests" request many information...you say yes you can... or... yes there are... & so on... but they don't book??? and after 1 ore 2 days I ask them "if they change theyr mind" and they never give me an answer???? ..... Disappear into nothingness..... last sample a guest for 6 months next year ..perfect for me ...perfect for her with mega price discount including everything what she needs, (she is a host on Airbnb too!!) .... It makes me sick!
I wonder if I'm too kind with them during the pre approval......Did you have the same experience? what are you doing in those cases? Tks in adavance. Alessandra
@Giorgio-Massimo0 When you spend a great deal of time answering questions and imagining the guest will be booking, it might be a good idea to look at your listing description. In my opinion, your description is too wordy. You include a great deal of information, such as amenities, that is already provided in the amenity list. Potential guests often do not read the descriptions especially if too long.
Also, when I get an inquiry, not a booking request, and I am willing to accept the guest, I will send a pre-approval and advise the guest that the approval is good for 24 hours, at which time I will decline. If the guest is serious about booking, then I end up with the reservation. If the guest is still looking then I get nothing but I am not bombarded with questios either.
ha ha ha tks Linda for your suggests... I will take care of it have a great day!
I know that feeling!, And i agree with the other comment, people DO NOT read, what you are describing... ( at least the majority of them), and then you get bombarded with questions.. haha, sometimes i'm like " ammm the question you are asking.. its on my listing.. didn't you read?", but i still reply anyways!..
Sometimes i send an offer.. but if the person don't reply.. i don't bother anyways.. usually when someone does an inquiry, they also have other places on mind!, thats why it's SUPER important to reply ASAP 🙂
Tnks Alexandra too. Have a great day!
Hello Alessandra,
People are looking for a place to stay and it is a lot better if they ask a million questions and decide not to book because it's not a good fit than have a horrible guest.
Airbnb is about providing a service and it has its ups and downs; one of the downs is answering the same questions over and over again (even if they're specified in your description).
Consider yourself as the client, you might ask a lot of questions at a store and then just not come back to purchase the product you saw or found something better and don't want to waste your time answering questions when your decision is made.
Have fun, enjoy Airbnb and be thankful of guests (or inquiries) with millions of questions, trust me, this is better.
Cheers!
Tanks Tania & Andrew have a great day too
