Hi Community Center,
My location is not exactly shown on map as my address. I am trying to do like the instruction on Help Center but it still does not work out. Can you guys take some time to help me to solve this problem?
I am so appreciate for your taking time to respond me. Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Jenifer.
The map is only there as a guide to your general location. Your full address details are only provided to the guest once a booking is confirmed. It is up to you to give as much information in your property discription as possible, i.e. distance from popular attractions or events and what your neighbourhood is like. You can also answer any questions guests may have in this respect so that they have the best possible location information prior to making a reservation.
Hi Jenifer,
As Sharon said, the map gives potential guests an idea of where your listing is located. That said, if it had pinned you somewhere inappropriate you can contact Airbnb and ask them to move it. They won't move it exactly to you or listing, but somewhere nearby. In my case the original pin was on government/subsidized housing and anyone living in this house it is not allowed to sublet, so I asked them to move the pin and they kindly obliged. So contact them and work something out.
I have moved the pin three times, but it always goes back? How do I change it as I am a bit out of the central which we and many people like, but many want to be closer to the party. So how do I contact Airbnb to change it please? Or?
Hi @Steve31,
It is not possible to edit your address or move your location pin once you have had your first booking - this is to avoid dishonest hosts luring guests in with a great location and then changing it. You will need to contact Airbnb to get it changed - this Community Help Guide explains the best ways to contact them, Twitter and Facebook seem to work well.
Let us know how you get on!
Kirstie
Hi Community,
My address is totally wrong on the map, it's showing my property 5 blocks away from where it is. Much further from the underground station than where it actually is.
So I have tried to move the PIN on the map and each time I refresh, it goes back to the wrong place. And I also tried from the phone app, and I get a permission error.
Is there anyway I can fix that as it makes my property further and worse than it is...
Thanks
Damien
It was possible to change until few weeks ago when they start to make some changes on Airbnb. Now it's not possible any more. It's a bug I think.
Personally, I like this "bug". I have a feeling it is intended to throw off companies like Host Compliance LLC (and their competitors) who are trying to datamine non-legit renters and report them to town governments.
My town has signed a one year contract with HC LLC.
I wanted to drop my pin a few blocks away but it seems that ABnB does that automatically. I think it should be an option because it sounds like most people are quite annoyed by it.
As you have reported this so long time ago, it appears that AirBnB has no interest in fixing their badly broken system. What a shame.
AirBnB has a serious issue with integrated Google maps causing many of your users to go to a wrong place when they try to find us. We have marked the correct location for both or our entries, but they change automatically:
Our correct GPS coordinates are: 23.595450, 58.398915.
This serious bug in your system and it appears to originate from Google maps. You should not automatically update location based on address in countries where Google maps does not work including Oman. Google maps locations and street names are here wrong and can not be trusted. Openstreetmap, on the other hand, works perfectly here.
To increase their customer saticfaction, they should fix their broken system immediately if they really care.
I agree! The website says I can drag the pin, but it does not allow me to move the pin. I have four units I wish to list. After creating the first two, I had to contact airbnb and they had to move the pin. They told me when I duplicated the listing to create the final two listings that the map would also be duplicated. Now the map and the address is even worse. This is not rocket science. It's 2018.
she is trying to change it and it won't work for me either, you airbnb have changed the rules don't like it
I've done several posts about this. I have a feeling this is a quick defensive measure against companies like HostCompliance.LLC to obfuscate addresses. My town has hired HC LLC and is very serious about rooting out non-legit short-term rentals. There are nearly 1000 ABnB listings in my town. Only about 100 are in zones which allow short term rentals and my town is up in arms about it.
I'm personally happy with the innaccuracy although I think it should be a host option.
