Map View issue for new hosts

Map View issue for new hosts

New to Airbnb as a Host and working to get my search rankings improved.  In the meantime, it appears that Map View only shows properties in the current page of search results.  That means, if there are 38 properties that match a search, only the first 12 are appearing in Map View.  The property appears to only shows up on the map when I navigate to the list page that contains it.

If I'm seeing this right, this is a problem.

I understand properties showing up lower in list view based on search ranking, however the average Guest searching the site will assume Map View contains all properties that match their search criteria.

This is unnecessarily punishing to new Hosts with new Listings, and is also unfair to Guests who are trying to find the best property for their travel needs.  While I am new to Airbnb as a Host, I have used the service for years as a Guest.  This limitation on search would be very frustrating for me in my search of vacation properties.

Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing this.  If so, please share your thoughts.  If not, please let me know what I am doing wrong.

Thanks.

you are right but that's not all, ABB will show properties in the strict city center only. Even if you move the map further away from the city center, the bubbles on the map will line up along the side of the map which is the closest to the city center, not in the middle of the searched area. All of this is very bad for hosts whose listings are out of the strict city center.

I wrote about the same issue a few months ago and made some screenshots, even compared it to some other booking websites where the results on the map are displayed differently but also not ideal.

I have found just one booking site where all the listings in the city are displayed and then, as you start to add filters those listings start to disappear until just a few of them remain. Unfortunately, I can't remember which booking platform it was 😞

VRBO appears to have it right.
