Minimum Stay Settings for Holidays

What minimum stay settings do people use for holidays to attract longer stays?  For example, Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 28 this year.  What minimum stay settings should I make for the weekend before?  I don't want a short term guest for the weekend before Thanksgiving that may block a longer term guest who wants to arrive the weekend before and stay through the holiday.  Should I have a minimum stay of 7 days for a check-in the Friday before, then 6 days minimum for Saturday check-in, etc..    Or will setting long minimum stays negatively effect my bookings.  What booking strategies are recommended? All thoughts welcome!

Beautiful listing, @Paul1978   I see on your calendar that the actual day of Thanksgiving is blocked.  Therefore at this point, no one will be able book dates that include Thanksgiving.  As to defining minimum stays, you can do that for a specific time period.  It seems you want to be available for the traveler that plans to stay over a week including two weekends, one before and one after Thanksgiving.  Is that a toursit pattern that is frequent in Santa Fe?  If not, then I suggest you do not try to appeal to that traveler.  4 day minimum for Thanksgiving and following weekend would be a great idea, though.  Also, you might boost your rate, if you have not already done so.

Thanks for the advice.  Actually Thanksgiving IS available on my listing BUT I put in the rule set that someone cannot check-in on that day.  So when you highlight the check-in date it shows the 28th crossed out although you can still book that day.  I find it very confusing as well and will let Airbnb know because potential travellers may assume the day is booked.

   I can’t figure out how to do a minimum night stay on just holidays.  Our usual is 2 nights but I’d like specific dates to be 3. Can you help me with that? Thanks!

Go to Availability and edit for trip details, additional requirements and enter the dates you want a 3 day minimum.
