Hi,
We are renting an aprtment in Chelsea London for 1 week from The London Club. The listing states under amenities:-
"Luggage dropoff allowed For guests' convenience when they have early arrival or late departure"
This implies that this service is inclusive. If it isn't inclusive then it should have stated "Luggage dropoff allowed at an extra charge"
I sent them an email on Monday confirming our requirement to leave the luggage until late afternoon. They responded but no mention was made about costs. They only informed us yesterday that there would be a charge. This is unacceptable and due to misleading advertising.
What recourse do we have?
Regards
Rob Hulme
You clearly cant see the subtle difference between your scenario and mine !!
Sorry Sarah, this message was meant for Victoria !
@Rob121 Use the @ symbol and choose the name from those listed in reply to the person. It makes it easier for us to know who you're replying to ;D

Totally out of order. All charges must be stated prior and received through Airbnb. The host will put in a request for money via the system, you get a message to accept or not. This is off.
stated service and not stated charge for it?
no way

Hello @Rob0
Good morning to you.
Sorry to rain on your parade and all that......
You are ready on the wrong foot here, as the host has informed you the “service is subject to availability” it appears the host also has issues too and it seems this is a match not made in heaven.
As a guest or as a consumer in general, if I have problems with accommodation or a service well before I use it then I use my common sense and cancel the booking/ service etc and look for another provider, as this scenario looks like it will invariably end in tears!
I would get in touch with air bnb by phone, get them to deal with your concerns before you go further ahead and either get all the concerns resolved beforehand or simply walk away from further misery
@Rob121 If they store the luggage in a locked room and have to help place/handle luggages, then that could be why they charge handling fees. Most luggage facilities at airports, stations, charge a small fee.
Communicate with your hosts that you would have misunderstood the way they wrote it. They can add the fee charges to their description to inform guests prior to booking. Some guest travel with one suitcase, some travel with 12 suitcases.
Have already informed them and advised them to change their listing. It's so simple really - transparency.
