This is my current situation:
I'm currently staying at a small apartment which I rented for 5 days, arriving a Wednesday night and leaving on Sunday morning.
Before I arrived the hosts were always in contact and left everything ready for me to check-in on my own, since I was arriving in the middle of the night which I did without any issues, however, things started to go down the next morning (Thursday)...
I woke up to some remodeling happening in the next apartment, and when I mean some remodeling I'm talking about LOUD grinding noises and hammering from early morning (8:00 am), having arrived in a late flight I wanted to get a good night sleep before going out and exploring the city which of course I could not do...
Anyway, I though well since I'm already up, I might as well just go out and explore, so I tried to hope into the shower only to find out the 'hot' water it's only kind of 'warm'? but still I decide not to make a big deal out of it so I took a quick shower and went on my way...
After coming back to the apartment around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, the grinding noises are still happening and continue to happen until 6-7 in the afternoon, after that it's finally some peace and quiet...
The next day (Friday) same story , loud noises from early on and this time there is NO hot water in the apartment AT ALL, so I decided to send a message to the hosts letting them know about the issue (I noticed the lack of hot water around 11 am), they reply within an hour saying they will look into it, they apologize and say they will be arriving at 4:00 PM to look into it, I go on with my day (this time having to work from the apartment) listening to construction going on all day long again and unable to attend a couple of work meetings since they noise wont allow me to do that...
At this point I'm honestly super annoyed about the constant noise and I send them a message to let them know and asking them if construction it's going to continue during the weekend...
They reply with:
"There is some remodeling happening next door and construction will stop during the weekend"
Which in my mind it seems like they were aware that this was going on and did not communicated this to me in advance or put any notices in the listing.
The host arrives around 5 (construction still going on by the way, which he just dismisses like it's nothing) and after messing with the water heater for a few minutes they mentioned it's fixed, they apologize again and leave.
Now, at this point, the thing that makes me mad it's the fact that it seems like they knew it was going to be pretty loud and they did not informed me about it, but at this stage I already spent 2 days dealing with it I don't know what to do if I should just request a refund or something?
Any advice/insights?
