I just found out from my incoming guest that the room is in fact not for her but for a "friend "who is taking the room in her name. This makes me somewhat uncomfortable as I know nothing about this guest, other then the fact that he is a man. I do not even know his name..
I did advise her to have this perosn reach out to Airbnb and book the room under his name.
Has anyone else ever encountered this?
Thank you.. Provincetown Shelly

Thanks so much Paul for your sage advice.. Something told me this was not right and I advised the guest to cancel her booking since it was not for her and to have her friend book the room directly with Airbnb.
I did all of this through the Airbnb platform.
This was a first for me and I did reach out immediatley to Airbnb customer service but you beat them to it.
Many thanks for your help..
Michelle
Hi @Michelle1128 I am not surprised this makes you feel uncomfortable. It is also against Airbnb rules to make third party bookings.
You did the right thing, the guest who is actually staying should create an Airbnb profile and book- so that you are fully covered for their stay and you know exactly who will be staying with you.
I would reach out to Airbnb customer services and explain your situation too, and make sure you're communicating with your guest through the Airbnb platform so your chats are logged and visible to Airbnb.
