My listing is not showing up in search results

I am very confused. I have listed my property and made sure it is "listed". I have double checked all my settings. yet, when I do a blind search from the web, as an anonymous user, my property does not show up. It won't even show up on the map. I've made my criteria very broad and made sure the dates are open, but when I "test run" a search, I have no results showing my property. I'm stumped. I've tried to reach out to Airbnb regarding this, with no luck. Can anyone help?

Hello @April59,

I did a search for accommodation for September the 17th to the 19th and your listing showed up.

I'm not sure what dates you used but one thing to keep in mind is that you have to search for a range that's at least equal to your minimum nights stay for the period.

Also make sure that the instant book filter is off as yours is not an instant book listing. Airbnb often sets it on by default. They usually set it on if you search with dates close to the current date or if there are a lot of listings in your area.

The post by below by Jeet has some suggestions on searching for your listing.

Why can't I see my listing in the Search Results?

I just spoke to a guest that booked in my area and didn't see my listing. What should I do?

I'm very confused as well. I've had multiple times where my listing disappears.  Such as now. I've checked everything with my site looking for the cause and nothing jumps out at me. I check it on multiple dates, under multiple search cities and various filters. Airbnb needs to address this ASAP.

@David1796 ,

Your listing shows up in the search results (Hartford, MI) on page one (!)

It also shows active and correct integrated in the system here:

https://www.airbnb.com/s/homes?host_id=94669563

So nothing wrong with it.

Best regards, Emiel

@David0, I too have had this happen multiple times. I have contacted AirBnB help and it has taken days to get a response. Meanwhile, I have been losing rent. What I've noticed is that my small pocket of the city is consistently not showing up on the first few pages of search when I check. I've got great reviews, superhost, set to IB, Free cancellation, and regularly update my calendar and listing. Who knows what the system is doing, but I find that when I go on instant book and look up my listings, they are regularly buried or don't show up at all. I'm looking into other booking platforms and other options, as the loss to my business is simply not worth it, nor is it worth it to have to continually check in on it. My .02. 🙂

Oops, I meant that "I find that when I go on *incognito mode* and look up my listings, they are regularly buried or don't show up at all". It seems they cycle through visibility at some times, so I *do* get some bookings, but then there are periods of "radio silence" where I get no bookings, no inquiries and the listings are buried or don't show up at all when I check on them.

Hi, I am only just finding this forum. Our listing is not showing up on searches of Aribnb. I have tried several times, on different phones and computers. We just do not appear. I have put in dates (including our minimum stay) but we do not come up. We grew worried when we realised we had not had any enquires or bookings for some weeks, and have no summer bookings yet when we are usually fully-booked by now. I cannot seem to be able to write to Aribnb and so was directed to this page. I see it has been an issue for others, that seem to have been resolved, but I am completley at a loss as what to do.

Can anyone please offer any advise as to what we should do next?

@Richard-and-Jules0 when I searched AirBnB for listings in Ballydehob, your listing was on the very first page.

I did this search twice, once under my account and once anonymously (with no account), and your listing was on the first page both times.

How are you searching so that it does not appear?

(I am worried about the lack of bookings, though...)

Hi Mathew,

Thanks for your response. I had several people search for Ballydehob and it didn't come up out of 18 of 18 listings, so I know it wasn't just me. I read some hosts suggestions and snoozed the listing for 1 hour and now it is visilble, so who knows. And worringly, who knows how long it wasn't coming up and why - I see there are several host theories on this forum page! It is very unusual for us not to be booked up by now and we have no bookings for our busiest period,

Anway, thanks again,

Jules

@Richard-and-Jules0, there are way more than 18 listings in Ballydehob. If the people said your listing wasn't in "18 of 18 listings" maybe the guest did not look past the first page? (There are 18 listings per page.)

If you search for all listings in Ballydehob, there are 76.

Even if you limit your search to just Instant Book listings, there are 41.

Recently, AirBnB has given a big boost to Instant Book listings, and some people report that the "Instant Book only" filter was on by default for them when searching.

It is a credit to the popularity of your listing that you are on the first page even without Instant Book on.

Be aware that not having "Instant Book" in considered one of the big factors in a reduction in Inquiries and bookings.

Hi,

No. we have double checked, sometimes it just only shows one page, sometimes 4. Also, we have instant book on.

Thanks for your help though.

I cannot seem to be able to contact Airbnb directly, I just keep going around in circles.

@Richard-and-Jules0

If you are seeing a different number of listings when you search, you must either have moved the map

or have some sort of filters on. The order of the search results may change, but the number of listings

will not (unless you change something about your search).

To reach AirBnB:

On your Help page, near the bottom right is a "Contact us" button.
Or you can use this link: https://www.airbnb.com/help/contact_us

Once you are on the "Contact us" page, choose "Its something else"

This will give you the choice to either exchange messages with AirBnB or to speak to someone on the phone.

I have Villa in Kalkan - Turkey , adress is correctly done, but when I check the avaliblity in Kalkan like a clients, my villa lsiting not under Kalkan but under Kas. Kas is bigger town than Kalkan and Kalkan is part of Kas region. But Kas itself a holiday resort like Kalkan. It is misrepresenting my villa showen under Kas rather than Kalkan. Can any body help me how I can make it showen under Kalkan.

Thank you

@Deniz19 your Villa really is not listed under the name of any specific city. The listings appear in the search results solely based on where the map is positioned. If you typed in "Paris" and somehow scrolled the map to your Villa, your Villa would appear; it would not matter that "Paris" was in the text box.

Your Villa is in a physical location, and when the map includes your physical location, your Villa may show in the search results.

You can talk to Airbnb about what areas the map shows when people type in "Kas" or "Kalkan", but that is an entirely different discusson.
