i had a very negative experience with my host, i made a reservation for 2 nights in jersey city and when i landed in the space the apartment was very different from the pictures and not at all put together, even the host name was not the same as her profile(she goes by sara, her real name is anita), over all i felt a very weird vibe from the host, so i left the place immediately within 15 mins and booked a hotel for my stay. I reported the incident to airbnb and when my host was notified regarding this she started sending me abusive messages in my personal phone calling me nasty words and saying she will make sure to leave negative review about me in airbnb. I did not entertain any further communication with her and blocked her in my cellphone.
i sent screenshots of all her messages to airbnb and also explained the situation and got my full refund back. However what is concerning me is that no action has been taken against the host, she easily called me dishonest and liar and claimed that im trying to seek attention in airbnb(not sure what i gain by getting attention in airbnb) she also lied that i was rude to her kids, when i had no interaction with her kids and was in her place for only 15 mins. She also made herself appear very professional in airbnb with her reviews. Its unfortunate airbnb doesnt take any action against such ppl and allow them to continue hosting, she already had similar reviews indicating cleanliness and attitude issue for her other listing (which is now deleted) hence her new listing only has the glowing reviews.
Im attaching below the photos of the room when i entered

@Divya27 You received a full refund and your review is clearly displayed on the listing, so as far as I can tell this issue is resolved.
The fact that the listing is still active does not mean that Airbnb has taken no action on it. But what more do you want? For the host to be permanently delisted because she sent you a rude text?
Hi Andrew
Im glad that i received full refund from Airbnb, however its not about one rude text from the host . The overall experience was terrible for me, first of all the listing was completely misrepresented and i had to immediately look out for other arrangements for my stay the day before Christmas, when i bought this to Airbnbs attention, i started getting rude texts from the host and openly claiming to give me worst review in retaliation. I spent the majority of day dealing with this issue and sorting things with Airbnb, after all this i also have reviews claiming that i was rude to her kids and lied about the room.
I had used Airbnb a few times before and was extremely satisfied with my previous experiences, all of the hosts were very diligent and were abiding to the rules of Airbnb. This was my first terrible experience and would probably not want to go this route anymore .
@Cormac0 This is not about revenge, just holding a person accountable for their actions.
This is completely unacceptable and sounds like its a terrible experience. I think its better to take a hotel for a few more $$ than stay on airbnb and go through harrowing experiences like this. In addition it also seems like some of the host above think its ok to misrepresent pictures and send rude and offending messages.
@Divya27 I'm sorry you encountered such a rude host and glad that it was not typical of your previous Airbnb experiences. Hosts also encounter rude guests sometimes- the platform is all about human interaction and therefore we may sometimes have the bad luck to end up dealing with an unpleasant person.
As Andrew said, you have done all you can do by leaving a review and reporting this, and fortunately had an understanding CS rep who issued a refund. Airbnb will not tell either hosts nor guests how they dealt with an issue, for privacy reasons. They may very well have contacted the host to tell them they can't behave like this with guests, or threaten to leave them a bad review, and to make sure their representation of the listing is accurate. But they won't give you that information, just as they won't tell a host how they dealt with a report of a terrible guest.
