To start with what are the local govt rules and regulations about hosting your house on Airbnb in India - New Delhi specifically. Do we have to take permission 1st etc? Where can I find out locally. Thanks

Hello @S2,

I have a place in a tourism town so the rules are quite different here. Google "Bed and Breakfast scheme Delhi tourism"  and you might find some forms that will guide you with the procedure. Esaier would be to just give a call to the local tourism office and inquire.

Yes, you need permission. Occupancy tax is directly paid by airbnb to the Govt. in India, you need to declare it as well. If you are planning to rent out an aparment, you need to find out the short term rental rules from the Chariman of your society.
