New Policy?

I would like to ask the community, i will be going to Portugal for a short trip and my host ask me to provide my Personal data as well as my Passport number is it okay that i need to provide it? Because im just wondering i haven't encounter it with the other host or me as well as a Host  in Airbnb. So i just want to make sure if somebody also encounter it or doing it as well for their guests

Thank you in advance

There is a legal requirement for accommodation providers to check ID.

Personally I would to provide this on arrival.

What personal information are they asking you for @Krystel1

I'm afraid that might be misuse because they ask for it wherein i haven' t encountered as far as im using Airbnb

Name: Birth city: Country: City where you live: Country where you live: Birth date: Passport or ID Number: Country of your passport: Check-in: Check-out:

Thank you so much for the reply..

in some countries, including Croatia, Italy etc.. hosts , as well as hotels, motels etc.. are obligated to register their guests and send guest's personal informations to police. I am doing this during check in but if your host have self check in option then he can ask you to email him a photo of your ID in advance. Why in advance? Because once you check in you may forget or refuse to send it and then the host may have problems.

Alright i understand..
