New host needs help

Hi There,

I got my first guest checked in two days, but money is not paid to my account yet. I got very confused as i don't understand I have filled the payout form as required, why I got a mail from payoneer Mail asking for my bank statement which said I was applying for a payoneer account? I didn't apply any payoneer account. I only just give Airbnb my New Zealand bank account. I sent mail to Airbnb, but my mail was bounced back. I feel I am helpless now. Can any one help me?

Have you received an email (approx 24 hours after your guest checked in) to say your payment is being processed?

If you did, then it can take up to 5 days for the money to appear in your bank account. Paypal is the fastest method - usually immediate in most countries.

If you have not received an email then contact AirBnB to find out why

Hi Gerry,

I have not got mail from Airbnb about payment processing. Now the problem is i don't know how to contact Airbnb. I sent email to express@airbnb.com, but mail was bounced back twice. I checked on Airbnb web, it seems no way to contact them directly. I am so frustrated. Do you know how to contact them?

Thanks for your help!

Call USA 617-901-5501 his name is Mark M-F he is great !!!

This is my first time hosting, my guest arrives in a week.  I have no clue if these guests are screened for safety check. Are they trust worthy? Can I leave my home to them while I am at work?

I really appreciate your feedback.. Is it safe to leave the house key to get in while I am not home? Or do I ask for any type of ID? Do I need to serve breakfast?

Unfortunately there is not a phone or hotline to call for questions.

Thank you for your help!

@Sofia34 You sound like you have the New Host Jitters.   While no one, including Airbnb, can give you a 100% guarantee that the guests are trustworthy,  it is very rare that a guest causes problems, despite what you read in these Community Center posts.  Consider that Airbnb hosts accomodate millions of stays each year world wide with no incidents.

You, as a host, need to screen guests so that you are comfortable with them in your home.  When someone makes a reservation inquiry or a reservation request, it is helpful to ask them what their plans are, what brings them to your area.  Their reply will help you understand what they will be doing while at your place and give you peace of mind.

One thing you can do, if you haven't already, is to require Verified ID for anyone requesting to book your place.  Go to Manage Listing and to the left of the Calendar and More box, you will see Reservation Requirements. Select the Verified ID option.

If this guest will be arriving and / or staying in your home while you are at work, I would encourage you to lock up any valuables and any rooms the guest is not allowed to enter.  An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  Be sure you have a check list of house rules that you go over with the guest when you first meet them.  Are they allowed to use your kitchen?  Refridgerator? Food?

You'll need to think these things through.

I remember my first guests and wow, I learned a lot from them especially seeing my place through their eyes.

I wish you the best of luck and if you have more questions, fire away!
