New host

Hi I am a relatively new host; since November 2018. I have had several bookings so far, and they have all posted great reviews. Any ideas how I could boost my bookings? Does being a 'new host' have a significant impact on bookings?

Your place looks stunning @Rosemary168

A few comments, from me.

  1. include which island you are on in your description - all it says is Carribean 🙂
  2. If I was considering your place I would want to know whether there are shops, markets, bars, restaurants I could walk to if not how far away is the nearest town/area for this?
  3. I would want to know about attractions on the island apart from the beach
  4. If you need a car to stay there do mention this

I don't know how bookings in your area work? do people book a long term in advance, do you get last miniute get aways from destinations like the US?

Speak to your local tourism people for advice.

look at using other listing companies (remember to co-ordinate calendars).

Also price check your place against comparable properties in your area.

Good luck.

Hi Helen thanks so much for your valuable input.  Under 'description' and under 'the space' and 'getting around' I have information on points 2 and 4.  Do you think that this is the best place to have this information?  I know other hosts who have been hosting for many years, that have already received bookings for later this year.  Do you think alot of travellers look at the number of reviews to determine whether they will book or not?

I will certainly review your other suggestions; thanks.
