No profile or reviews

Hello, we don't do automatic booking, and require a profile and a photo, and a bit about your visit. We are constantly getting booking request that have no profile other than a first name and date they joined and no explantion of their visit. Usually new Airbnb members with no reviews. I usually will send a reply and ask for additionall info, and if they dont respond I will decline their request. I also hate that we cant see a profile photo untill we book them. This is our private home and we live here. Im being too picky?

I use IB and have for 4 years.  No problems with that for me but understand it doesn't work for everyone.  Still guests new to Air BNB will still send an inquiry or a request.  I advise of my need for government ID and personal photo.  Most try to comply ASAP.  While I like a picture as part of my feeling comfortable with a request, I actually rely on the guest responses to my messages more than any picture.  I just like the picture so I can start to imagine this person in my home.

@Gayle83, I am on IB, but I ask government ID and recommendations. Others will send inquiry or request to be able to book. Some new guests are a bit lost and it is good to help them suggesting to put more info about themselves. We can explain that it will make things easier for them:)

@Gayle83, I use instant book as well and it really works for me. Many of my best guests are brand new to Airbnb with no reviews and little to no profile info. Everyone has to start somewhere. I almost prefer the newbies because I can "mold them" in a way. Thinking back on it some of my less than ideal guests were all experienced Airbnbers with many good reviews.
