Hi all,
Still waiting to know what time to expect a guest who's arriving today. I've made him aware that I'm at work, but nearby, and would need to know as soon as possible so that I can plan my day around it. I'm quite flexible but it's really frustrating not to have any contact from him, and I think it's very inconsiderate. Last I heard from him he was booking his train here and would let me know then..
What have your experiences been with uncommunicative guests and how did you deal with them? Appreciate your stories, advice, or just have a rant along with me 🙂
This has happened to me a lot. Is it possible he doesn’t have notifications turned on for the app? You could try sending him a text. That’s what I do:
”Hi guest, I sent you check-in information through the app. I just want to make sure you received it. Please let me know.”
It usually works.
Then follow up through the app so there is a record that you made a good effort to get in touch with him.
If my guests are unresponsive to my messages, SMS, emails, and phone calls then I send the following message via Airbnb:
" Dear X it seems we still don't have your time of arrival but no problem, let us know when you arrive at the location and we will do our best to come and meet you within an hour. There are 2 cafes nearby so you can grab a coffee while waiting. Kind regards, B&S 🙂 "
Usually, they respond within minutes :)))))
My message to guests that don't communicate check in time is more or less same as @Branka-and-Silvia0
It always works like a charm~
