Number of guest enforcement

I live in South Lake Tahoe and we have a very strict city ordinance on max number of guests allowed per rental permit. I just had a horrible experience with guests that lied about the number of people they were bringing. They violated my permit. In the future I would like to update my house rules to state if they exceed number of guests stated on rental reservation they will be asked to leave and their rental fee will NOT be refunded. Can I do this and will air bnb back me up??

@Corinna76 You don't even have to put it in writing, when guests break your rules you can call Airbnb and have them cancel the reservation penalty free. It is clear that there shouldn't be more people than the number of the reservation. But of course you are free to give more detailed description, maybe you don't want guests to have visitors at all, or if you just want to confirm the max number of people allowed, you should write it in your house rules. Although I don't know about the refund, if you cancel guests tend to get refunded for the unused nights.

you can ask not registered guests to leave and the rest can stay. Surveliance cameras are usefull

What did your guests say when you politely asked the additional guests to leave?

@Corinna76  Options have been given by hosts in the thread already. Do remember that you will get a retaliatory review from these guests. They could rate you between 1 star ton3 stars depending on how reasonable they are.

Airbnb allows retaliatory reviews unfortunately. I would suggest that you talk to the guests and try to gain their understanding. There are nothing Airbnb can do to help you.
