Number of guests

I’m new. I thought that there was an additional charge based on the number of guests. I’m cleaning for 5 when they registered 1. I’m feeling cheated. What can I do?

@Lisa1847  Extra guest fees are something the host has to set up themselves, it's not something automatic that Airbnb does. Some hosts charge a fee for every guest over 1, some charge for the first 2, with additional fees above that number, some hosts with entire house listings that handle large groups may charge a set amount for the first 6 guests, with fees above that, it's very individual. You just have to figure out what will work for you.

And even when you state the fees in your listing, some guests will only enter 1 guest when they book, so you have to send a message when they book, confirming that there will only be the booking guest coming to stay or???

You can't charge extra fees after the fact if it doesn't mention them in your listing, so any guests currently booked, you won't be able to charge extra for - either change it ASAP, or snooze your listing until you can do this.

 And do you mean you're cleaning for 5 after they've left or cleaning every day? Because there are very few hosts who clean for guests during their stay.

@Lisa1847:
Your listing is calculating extra guests properly, but, of course, the number of guests charged for is soley dependent on the guest's honesty. As Sarah says, you can ask when a guest books to confirm the number of guests. You can also put a surveillance camera on the property and get pictures of each person staying there. With that evidence you can send  a charge through the resolution center for additional guests, however you can't send a bill for additional cleaning. Hope that helps.
