One night bookings for.......

I am new on this hosting thing and having my second guests over as we speak. I rent a room in villa where we live with my husband, in Spain.

I started by having no restriction for minimum nights. But had to change it becourse for the second time we get young local couple short drive away to stay for only one night. It seems that they come here to spend a night together, what they can not do at they homes, as living still with they parents, and Spain being old fashion country and catholic.

Plus these young couples do not seem to read the rules or anything what is in discription of the accomodation so you have to go over everything with them as they come. It is too much work for the money.

But I really don't want to refuse one night stands from people who are traveling in business or traveling cross the country and stopping for one night.

I already have 30 euros/night and 10 euros cleaning. At summer time I have 35-40 euros/night. So I really can not race the price anymore.

Anybody have any ideas, it would be very much appreciated.

@Ulla31 I just had an unpleasant experience last week and would like to give the next host a heads up. But Airbnb didn’t send me a link to review the guest yet and it’s been a week already.

Unannounced, a non paying, non registered person showed up after the confirmed guest checked in (she could have been underage, I don’t know), empty alcohol bottles and a pile of condoms were left behind two hours later. Clearly a one night stand. Of course they were upset, but thank God they left (after I called the police).  Not what I expect from an Airbnb guest. They checked in Saturday night at 10 pm and left at midnight after I addressed that the second non person is not registered and has to leave. Two young kids just needed a room for sex. I am not sharing my home for that purpose. Our family home is a decent and heart felt place.

Based on this experience, I am not taking in locals in ever again. I thought the guest was from Montreal, as he explained. Turns out he’s from Toronto.

Hosts have to be so careful when screening people. Airbnb did not give me a chance to write a review on this person yet. Something doesn’t match up here.

I changed the stay for 2 nights minimum and stopped having the problem of young couples just stopping for having sex.

You need to contact Airbnb and ask what is going on with the revew post. That is not normal. I get the mail always on that day that guest is leaving or last day of booking.
