First time I'm allowing a family pet to come with the family to the home. (I'm a little scared) How do you charge for this extra fee, especially after booking was made. Does airbnb cover pets if they ruin the rug? Start a flea festation? We have a small dog and a cat but they are never allowed in the airbnb area. Now families are asking to bring their pets? I ok'd it and I'll just hope they don't ruin it for future pets to visit???
@Bob-Dodi0 you can request the fee via the resolution center ("send/request money" under the guest's profile photo on the itinerary). No Airbnb will not cover pet damage.
FWIW we allow pets in our vacation rentals and have never had a serious problem. Minor damage occasionally, which guests have willingly paid for. Kids are much riskier IMO.
I am just preparing my home to begin hosting. I have three little shih tzus who will never be in the Air B &B area. I work in animal rescue so I have great affection for all animals. I would like to allow a small dog to stay with my guests. I have a fenced in yard and a dog door they are welcome to use. Any advice on rules to include? Kimberly
@Bob-Dodi0 There is a reason why most hosts don't allow pets(myself included-even though we have pets ourselves). The sad truth is, that if someone's pet damages your property, with Airbnb, you are most likely on your own.
