My son and his wife are travelling to America and are having problems getting decent affordable airbnb accommodation. For a room for one night it is £150 whereas in Europe a similar room would be around a third of this. In addition, if they are looking to book2 nights they are being charged a cleaning fee of£50 per night, instead of one cleaning fee for their stay. Is this common practice?

@Sandra1109 There is loads of affordable accommodation in the US,
Prices will of course depend on their location. New York or San Fransico is going to be more expensive than a country area in Wisconsin for example. And if they want to stay in a more central, expensive location in a city that will up the price.
The cleaning fee can't possibly be per night. It is a one-off fee as you know that you add to the listing price.
Just suggest when they put in their dates and location, they use the slider on the price to set a nightly rate they are comfortable with and then only accomodation within that price bracket will show up.
