Paying for a trip with money from hosting

Hi,

Is it possible to pay a trip with money from hosting without additional transactions?

I did host something and did not payout yet. If I now rent an appartment with Airbnb where can I set that Airbnb will not take mine money from credit card but money which I earned from hosting?

Thanks for help

Ivo

I don't think you can do that.

It might happen in the future though as there is potential revenue in it for AirBnB:  it implies holding on to your money (instead of paying it our right away) and then applying it to a future stay.  That's very attractive to AirBnB for so many reasons:  no money transfer costs, cash flow / interest benefit of holding on to your payout, and then finally it means making money on your booking when you become a guest who books a stay.

So it'll probably happen, but I don't think you can do that yet.

Thank you for answer.

I really expected that this is something normal (as you said it would be in Airbnb interest to alow such work). I just starting with hosting and didn't plan to transfer money from Airbnb at all. As I see I will have to.

For Airbnb to begin operating in the way you suggest opens up all sorts of challenges (legal, tax, reporting, regulatory etc.). I very much doubt it will happen.

Yes; it's fairly easy to transfer money, back when my listing was in USD I transferred to PayPal, which you can then use to pay for all kinds of online purchases.   I've now changed to my local currency and it just goes to my bank, which can take two weeks. (PayPal is instant.)
