I just had a lovely chat with the Airbnb call centre after I made a complaint about the time taken for us to receive payment after airbnb releases our payout ..Today with instant money transfer platforms such as OSKO .
There is no excuse for the time it takes to receive our payouts . This call centre personnel hadn't heard about this complaint before ..I was amazed !
We have booking payments for our homes made sometimes months before our check ins to secure the bookings . Airbnbs bankings systems world wide must make a fortune from these deposits through interest.
I'm not questioning this part however with that in mind,after check-in or for some hosts with strict refund policy on the week of check in. Why aren't those payouts made available to us ..At least on the day of check-ins ..
My bank sees any money waiting in escro for me and pays immediately. However I have on some occasions waited 3/4 business days after I've received the email stating the release of my payout from Airbnb.
I don't believe it's my bank but rather the 3 rd party payment bank ( World bank ) which holds on to this money for their benefit. I believe Airbnb must look into the process of this 3rd party bank and ask them to use an instant money transfer platform . This will enable our businesses run more smoothly.
I'm hoping by posting this that you too will contact Airbnb to have this change happen sooner than later . I hope you all have a wonderful month as hosts ..
