Please tell me whether anyone has had this problem.
I had referred a guest to be a host for Airbnb with the expectation of receiving the $300 referral fee. When the guest became a host, I was awarded a $100 bonus (the old one) instead of the $300. The referral was at about the third week in October and Airbnb claims that I referred my host with the old commission. However, I believe that it was within the time frame of the $300 and I asked them to prove it to me by showing me documentation that it was actually within the old time frame. The next response is:
We have thoroughly reviewed your case and found that when your referred Sonia we were only paying $100 for referrals, it has since been increased to $300 since this referral was made before the increase we can only issue you a referral payout of $100.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
(This is basically what they wrote me the first time after I had requested proof of documentation of the referral.....this is their 2nd response and basically identical to the first response.)
Personally, I believe that they aren't doing any investigation at all and taking the easy way out. Certainly, they can check their records as to when the referral went into effect and when my guest became a host. I want proof of this....not just that they have reviewed the case.
Is there anyone at Airbnb I can talk with regarding this, maybe a supervisor or would it do any good? Or has anyone had a situation like this?
They aren't through with me yet!
Your input would be most helpful.
Thank you,
Jill
