Places booked up forever...

Hi guys

I'm looking at a number of places in east london uk to stay. I have found a perfect one, but the calender says they are booked continuously through to 2040!! Surely that's not correct right?? Their listing says nothing about it being a temporary Airbnb and they talk alot about how they love meeting new people and welcoming them in - so I doubt that means they are only doing it temp.

I really want to message the host and ask if the calender is correct, but it won't let me message them without a valid available date (which seems a bit daft).

Is there any way to get a message to the hosts and ask if they are, in fact, booked up until 2040?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Some hosts only take bookings for the next 3 months, so their calendar will appear to be booked for all dates past 90 days. They may also be choosing to stop hosting sometime in the future.  This is why you should only search for the dates you want so you get back results only from hosts willing to accept your reservation request.  But I understand that you want to ask if they would be willing to consider your exception.

You can send an inquiry to any host for any dates, it does not matter if their calendar is not open.  So put the dates you'd like to stay with them and inquire if they are willing to take your reservation.

Hi Alice & Jeff!

Thanks so much for getting back to me!

So I have tried to do that several times but it just comes up with a message saying:

"Sorry, you cannot message this host because the dates you have selected are unavailable."

Problem is, as all the dates are unavailable, even well into the future, there seems no way to bypass this.

Is there another way that you know of to contact a host? I went into their profile but still couldn't see any other way.

Honestly thank you so much for trying to help me!

If they don't have any availability, they don't want to consider reservations at this time at all.  It is likely you should move on to your second choice.  Airbnb does this to respect our time from responding (declining) to reservation requests when we don't have availability.

Could be all sorts of reasons, no way to know and no way to contact them.

Just add it to your favourites, and check back later. It is possible that they will open the calendar again once they know what they are doing. Better have a host with a blocked calendar than one who is taking rejections!
