Hi to all,
I would like to hear from you guys about the postpone of the booking by the guest, due to unexpected troubles. In my case, we have a guest who booked for a whole month, and at the day of check-in informed us that her child is seek and they must postpone the trip for one week. Since they booked for a month, we are willing to give them 1 week for free, but I want to unblock the days of this week, to be available to the public.
I see that it is not possible, since it is considered that the guest is already checked-in, but do any of you have such experience, and how you have dealt with that
thnx to all of you,
Edita
The guest needs to cancel the reservation and ask Airbnb to refund her based on the Extenuating Circumstances policy. Airbnb will then open your calendar for the days she will not be using and rebooking her for the dates she is. There is no "postponment" option.
From "my reservations" you can change the bookings to the new dates, but you must be careful doing so as a one week postponemet can change the cancellation policy. No need to give anything for free, but they would now want 3 weeks as opposed to 4 ?
With a long term cancellation policy (more than 28 days), long term policy applies, but there are these supposedly extenuating circumstances - these would have to be proved to airbnb by your guest.
Take care though - with only 3 weeks they are no longer under the long term cancellation policy and can cancel according to your short term policy - they may be trying to circumnavigate the system for an almost free cancellation.
