Pricing Error

Pricing Error

Hello,

I received a booking request today that stated a lower price than what is being advertised for the listing.

All extra service charges were taken into account yet the quote received showed a lower nightly rate than what is advertised?

Why is this happening?

I am having this problem as well.  I keep setting my price but airbnb isn't saving it.

I have had the same problem. The price charged is almost half the nightly price on my listing.  Does anybody know why?  I am taking account of the service charge.

That is odd. I assume you know to go to your listing and then click on pricing.  My page has it accessable from the right and left side but I tend to use the upper right corner for the drop down menu.

Do you have your auto pricing button turned to on?  If you do,  turn it to off.

Set your price in the drop down on the right where it says pricing.

What happened to me is that there was a bar across the page that was blocking the "save changes" button.  I could see there was a button behind it but I could not see what it was.  After many trials I clicked on the visable edge of the button and 2 things happened.  The bar dropped off the page and I could see the button and my prices changed because it WAS the "save changes" button.

Good luck.  I have noticed in these discussions there is a phone number to contact aribnb if you continue to have problems.

Hi, What is that phone number? I can never find the support number on Airbnb! My issue with pricing is that my listings in search results are showing a HIGHER price than what I've manually set (I use Smart Pricing generally, which is a great feature). I know about saving changes and losing the button. I'm sure the prices are saved. Interestingly, even on the days for which Smart Pricing is On, those prices also are not showing up. I use Safari, by the way. Thanks!

Hi.  I had trouble with this as well.  I made sure the auto pricing was off.  I can't remember if ... the pricing menu included a calendar but at some point I had my calendar in front of me. There is a drop down menu on the top right with pricing.   I click on a block of time and put my price in.  There was also a bar across the bottom that covered up the "save" option so every time I put my price in I could not see any way to save it.  Eventually I became aware of a box that was behind the advertising bar and so I clicked on the tiny bit of it I could see and what do you know!!  It was the SAVE button.  Good luck.

Here is some info on contacting airbnb

ere are 3 easy ways to contact Airbnb:

  1. Airbnb Community Experts
  2. Via Twitter Direct Message @Airbnbhelp
  3. Calling Airbnb

1. Contacting Airbnb's Community Experts

The easiest and quickest way to get answers to any issues is through contacting Airbnb's Community Experts.  If they cannot answer your question, they have the ability to re-route you to Airbnb

Step 1: Visit https://www.airbnb.ca/help/contact_us

Step 2: From the bottom of the screen, choose either "My question is about something else" or "I have a different issue"

Step 3: Follow the prompts to figure out what best describes your issues.  Some things you choose will take you to specific information whereas others you can fill in the text box and submit your question.

When you submit a question, you can expect an answer back from a Community Expert within five minutes but usually less.  If the Community Expert cannot help you, they can re-route your issue to Airbnb who will then contact you.  Airbnb Community Experts do not have access to your account information so if it is a question that can only be answered with account information, they will re-route you automatically.  Airbnb Community Experts are available 24/7 and again, usually you will have an answer from them within minutes.

2. Contacting Airbnb Via Twitter

I find the second best and easiest way to contact Airbnb regarding any issues I may be having is by using Twitter.  Airbnb seems to have dedicated staff who monitor their Twitter feeds and I usually hear back from them within 5-10 minutes of posting my isssue.

Step 1: Log into Twitter

Step 2: Search for @Airbnbhelp and choose "Follow" them

Step 3: Send a Direct Message (DM) explaining your issue and wait for their response.  They may ask for information such as your listing but always provide it over DM so it is not public.

3. Calling Airbnb's Customer Experience Line

I have had the same problem, have no idea why my prices are altered when people book the room,i have not got the set price on so why is this happening?

This has been my experience for solving the same problem:  I went to my calendar. At first I had trouble highlighting a block of days so I went day by day.  I highlighted that day on the calendar,  used the drop down menu in the upper right corner,  set my price, scrolled down.  The "save" option was mostly covered by an advertising bar across the bottom but I could see the edges of it.  I clicked on "save" and it saved my pricing.

I should add...  I did this on my lap top.  My daughter and I had a similar conversation.  She was using the phone app and said that it was much easier to do once she did it on her computer.

I am curious if we all get the same process and airbnb pages even if we are in different countries.

Just an FYI,  my daughter was having the same problem.  It almost never happens that I would be the one coaching her on a technical issue!!  However, she was using her smart phone and I was using my lap top.  It was much easier to figure all this out on the lap top.  Once she worked on her lap top she had a much easier time.

My pricing error was by airbnb, way too high . Not being able to contact airbnb, I instead reduced to the price I asked for and made it as a special offer. I believe that high price put potential guests off.

I have just tried to contact airbnb, their lack of communication is appaling. I just tried to call with out success.

Disappointed new host. Kamar

Hi everyone,

I have my nightly rate set to $170.

I've switched off smart pricing and have no longterm discounts.

A guest is wanting 12 nights from 8-20 august and is being quoted $100 per night.

I can decline this request and make a different offer for the correct price, but would like to have the correct price quoted in the first place and also to know why its happening.

Is there a simple cure?

Thanks.

this is exactly what is happening to me as well.  and sadly i accepted the reservation wihtout realizing the error.  I was set to charge $100/night and $115 on friday and saturday. the guests are staying 7 nights and air bnb quoted them $650 which works out to $93/night.  This is very frustrating and not right... has anyone found a solution?!?
