Pricing longterm rental

Hi,

I have been looking for a house for rent next summer, renting it for more then 30 days.

I found a nice house that I would like to rent, and I went through the process of booking.

The host cancelled because the price was wrong and asked me to rebook. The price was then out of my budget so I deceided not to go ahead.

I then found another villa - and then the host messaged me that the price I had been quoted was the weekly price. And amended my booking and asked me to confirm. I did not accept.

In both cases I got charged, quite large amounts too. Money got refunded within a week, but now I am reluctant to try and book another house.

My question is - the hosts are responsible to make sure the pricing, monthly discounts etc are correct. What are the consequenses if they do not update their prices?

If you make an enquiry instead of a booking request or an Instant Booking, you will not be charged. Yes, hosts are responsible to keep prices correct. There are no consequenses that I know if if you don't.

But if a host cancels, it should be impossible to book that listing at any price as the calendar will be blocked, not sure what is going on there. Host also has to pay a fine. Was it a a new host?

I don't they are both still available in the time frame I asked.

As mentioned one house owner changed his price and asked me to rebook.

The other one still has the same listing price.

Both of them have rented their property out several times .
