I was unable to use my Airbnb account and make reservations while recently traveling to Australia from the US. Even though I was signed into my account, and could see my picture icon, I was unable to make a reservation. I was required to complete an email verification, which I did, but nothing would happen. The website continued to bring me right back to the verify email site. So, I was unable to use Airbnb for my trip. Has this happened to anyone else? Am I missing something? It seems to be working fine now that I am back in the US.
Also, if I am already signed into Airbnb, then why am I required to sign in again as I navigate away from the main page? For example, I signed in on airbnb.com, then navigated to the Community Center, and now the page does not show that I am signed in. The sign-in tab has been replaced with my signed in photo. Any ideas?
I believe you have tried to book with hosts requiring a higher level of verification - like a government issued ID added to your profile.
Thanks, but I don't know how I would know that. The email verification step was obvious, but it just kept looping back to the same place without tell me what to do.
Then I suggest you ask airbnb for assistance.
One of the complaints about airbnb is getting help. I went that route first with zero success. I usually try to get help from the community, and hope to find someone who had the same issue and resolved it.
@Marit-Anne0 If you are using an app, switch to a regular browser like Chrome of Firefox. This eliminates many problems. 🙂
